Paul Reynolds has taught and performed on guitar for many years. He has played France, Germany, and Switzerland with his Quartet, Duet, and as a Solo Acoustic Guitarist. His Solo set consists of an eclectic mix, with a melodic vein, including contemporary fingerstyle, Jazz, Celtic, Hybrid Bluegrass, and Blues guitar styles.
His aim is to make his solo guitar set as varied as possible. Paul has led many guitar workshops dealing with improvisation, using fingerstyle, plectrum, and hybrid guitar techniques.
Paul Reynolds has run Jazz and Acoustic clubs in London, Oxford and the South West. Over the years, players as diverse as Pierre Bensusan, Jonathan Gee, John Etheridge, Mornington Locket, John Renborne, Woody Man, and The Bluegrass guitarist Chris Moreton have performed.
Paul was born in Newcastle Upon Tyne. He studied for a BA Hons while in London. He worked as a Semi-Pro Jazz Guitarist, and Bassist while studying Classical Guitar and teaching.
Most of his time as a player is now spent on Contemporary Solo Acoustic Guitar. "I spent years thinking I was playing the wrong instrument. That's why
I didn't push it like some guitarists do. Then it hit me that it was
all about making music with what ever is at hand; that's usually a
guitar. These days I enjoy playing, and I play for whoever wants to
listen."
